A Surprise Visit!

I can't believe this day has finally arrived! My mom, dad, and grandfather came to visit us!! And the best part? We were able to keep it a secret from our boys! They were totally shocked!!

We had been hinting for awhile, saying that "special presents" might arrive via airplane. Of course, we were meaning people, but they just assumed packages! So today, we simply drove to the airport and watched for planes to come in, saying that maybe one of them had some special presents!

We had the boys stand up against this wall, and they still had no idea that their pappy and grandma were coming, until they literally walked around the corner! Kyle was shocked speechless (unusual!) and Taylor said, "Hey! Hey guys!"

Below is a little video we tried to take of the boys' first reaction to seeing their pappy and grandma. Our camera battery was going dead, so we didn't get a whole lot, but it's cute anyway!

[ Just a Glimpse ]

We went to a birthday party last Saturday, and I thought I'd take a short video clip of Kyle hitting one of the piƱatas and then of all the kids as they gathered around to snatch the candy. They also got showered with confetti! What fun! The Mexican kids here sure do love birthday parties! (Speaking of which, Taylor has one coming up soon too...!)

[ Just a Glimpse ]

I thought it would be interesting to show a few video clips on here every now and then to give a greater look at the different things we do and encounter.

This was taken last Sunday night during our service in the mountains. It was held at a different home than where we normally go. I had planned on taking other videos and/or pictures, but after this one clip, my batteries died, so...hope you enjoy our singing!

What's Been Happening?

Yikes! Where do I begin? So many things have happened since I've last posted...

Here's the simple version of what we've been doing:

[] Got back from our trip to Mexico
[] Spent lots of time with Bro. Juan from our church who became terribly ill. (Thank the Lord for a healing touch...it appears he will come home from the hospital this week!)
[] Prepared for family along with a PVBI group who came to visit
[] Trying to get a newsletter out (since we're behind again...!)
[] And, still feeling the need to recuperate from all of the above!

Oh...and did I mention I have a kitchen sink that is leaking, as well as ants trying to invade my kitchen...?!! :)

Now for some commentary and (not too many) pictures:

We were so happy to have Dan & Michelle Durkee (Michael's sister), their three boys, and the ladies trio from PVBI "stop by!" They arrived last Monday evening, had a service at our church Tuesday night, and left early Wednesday morning.

Somehow we managed to cram 12 people in our very small apartment for a few meals...we went to the hospital in MX to sing for Bro. Juan, then went to Progresso, MX to souvenir shop...the guys had a blast playing ball down at a park...I enjoyed seeing pictures from the group's trip to Ireland...and can you believe it? I Didn't Take Pictures!!! I wish I would have had the presence of mind to think of it then, and not now!

The only pictures I took, were of the group/s singing...
Wow! It's hard to believe how much our nephews are growing up!
And, here's a video clip of the group singing my favorite song of the evening...hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

The Moody Chorale

We were very privileged to go hear the Moody Chorale sing last night! They did an excellent job! They sang various genres of Christan music, including an ethnic piece in both Spanish and African. Below is a short video clip of the chorale singing, "The Battle of Jericho."

Making a Mess!

Sunday afternoon, while at Philip and Collette's, Kyle decided to have a little "fun"! It was the typical scene...Mom thought Kyle was downstairs with Daddy, while Daddy thought Kyle was upstairs with Mommy. He was upstairs, just not with me! He had gone in a bedroom, shut the door, and proceeded to get into some stuff I had brought with me. This included Vaseline...and you can almost guess the rest! He took off his pants, rubbed it on his legs, his hair, his shirt, the floor..... When we found him, oh, what a mess! The almost full container was empty! Unfortunately, it was kind of funny, so we got the camera out. Below are a few pictures and a video clip.
