Misc. Pictures

Today, we had to say good-bye to Brenda...we had a lot of fun together, and can't wait to do it again!!! (I was really trying to take a picture of both boys with Brenda, but Kyle didn't want to smile...)

We have this cupboard in our study that is falling apart, and so, Taylor decided to investigate the inside. I just had to get the camera out...I love his personality that comes shining through...his eyes sure do tell a lot, don't they?!!

My Sisters Visit

Things have been happening around here...but, blogger has not been cooperating. For some reason, we've not been able to get on any blogs for two days!

Anyway, here are a few pictures to share with you from things we did while Brenda was here to visit.

We went shopping, and Brenda just had to buy the kids some sunglasses. They sure thought they were hot stuff!!

We went into Mexico (on the border) to see some tourist artisan stuff and then to eat. Brenda really enjoyed herself!
And now, I have some little cowboys! Brenda bought hats for both boys and also cowboy boots for Kyle. I must say, he looked pretty cute wearing all his new get-up!!
A quick visit to the park...for pictures and feeding ducks.
Check out Brenda's blog for many more great pictures!!

A Short Trip to South Padre Island

This whole week, Michael has had no classes!!! It is Founders Week here at RGBI, and therefore, Michael has only had to attend a morning chapel service and go to his regular tutor hour in the afternoon...this also mean no homework...which also means, more family time!

So we decided to visit South Padre Island (1 - 1/2 hrs. away) and enjoy some relaxation by the water! It was in the 70's, but a little windy, and that made it kind of chilly (I know, you northerner's just can't imagine!!)!

I tried to get a good picture of Kyle, but just when I snapped the picture, the sun came out really bright, and then Taylor got sand in his eyes, and the beach-walking expedition was over! But, I really liked this picture of Taylor...isn't he cute!!! (Must take after his mother! Ha! Ha!)

I tried to take a picture of Michael and I...but, forgot my tripod. We did set the camera on top of the vehicle, and set the timer...but the lighting was horrible, the angle was wrong, etc,... etc,... etc... Just enjoy the picture below (with no comments about comparisons...) ;)

It's Somebody's Birthday Today!!!

Today is Michael's (32nd) Birthday! The kids and I (well, mostly me :) planned a surprise birthday lunch for him after the end of his classes today. We ate a simple meal of homemade toasted subs and crackers with cheese dips. Mmmm...

I decided to make a card instead of buy one...and then I messed it up...so I decided to put the ribbon on it...but didn't have any matching colors of ribbon... Oh well! I guess it's the thought that counts!!!
Daddy with his two little boys!!!
Kyle always enjoys "helping"!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MICHAEL!!!!!

God is Good!

I've heard or read about several people recently who have seen answers to prayers or have had needs and/or wants met.

And now it's our turn. It was not an answer to prayer, but it was a special blessing that God sent our way! Isn't God good?

Although no details can be given, we just want to publicly thank the Lord for his goodness to us! He certainly blesses us more than we ever deserve!

Visiting

On Friday, we were able to visit with the Sankey's who were out here on the border for the weekend. We had a great time together! Thank-You Sankey's for taking the time out of your busy schedule to visit with us!

Sunday after church, we, along with the Springer's and Joshua V., ate lunch at the pastor's house. We all enjoyed the food. And of course, I had to forget my camera...!

Tuesday Happenings

What a great day we had on Tuesday!

My friend, Renee Springer and her kids, along with me and my kids, all packed up and headed to Denny's for the FREE Grand Slam meal being offered! All we had to do was purchase drinks - not too bad! You should have seen the dear lady's face when I told her we had 2 adults, and 5 kids (3 and under)!!!

After the fabulous meal of 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 sausage links, and 2 slices of bacon, we headed out to a really neat park to let the kids have some fun (and wear out some stored up energy!!!). I might also add the temperature was a beautiful 80*!!!!

Enjoy the various pictures below. I took some of Renee's kids, but I'll share them with her and maybe she'll post them on her blog.

Pictures from Sunday

Let's see...here are some random pictures from Sunday with explanations.

I was finally coerced into playing the piano at church...I was just a tad bit nervous because it has been so long since I've played extensively...and I get terribly embarrassed if I mess up (especially if it's the first time somewhere...)! My dear husband thought he would take a picture so I could put it on the blog!
Pastor Santiago Hernandez teaching the Sunday School lesson.

And then...we had a visitor show up for church this morning! Unfortunately, he provided great entertainment...he read a car brochure...

...he wrapped and re-wrapped his hand several times throughout the service...

...and was enjoying reading the newspaper....!!!!! :)
[Thanks Jonathan for the pictures!]

Anyway, this is the border station where we are waiting in line to cross back into the States.

When we got home, Taylor was supposed to be getting changed, but found this hat instead. I thought he looked really cute and asked him if he wanted to get his picture taken, he said "yeah"!!!
