Let's see...here are some random pictures from Sunday with explanations.
I was finally coerced into playing the piano at church...I was just a tad bit nervous because it has been so long since I've played extensively...and I get terribly embarrassed if I mess up (especially if it's the first time somewhere...)! My dear husband thought he would take a picture so I could put it on the blog!
Pastor Santiago Hernandez teaching the Sunday School lesson. And then...we had a visitor show up for church this morning! Unfortunately, he provided great entertainment...he read a car brochure...
...he wrapped and re-wrapped his hand several times throughout the service...
...and was enjoying reading the newspaper....!!!!! :)

Anyway, this is the border station where we are waiting in line to cross back into the States.
When we got home, Taylor was supposed to be getting changed, but found this hat instead. I thought he looked really cute and asked him if he wanted to get his picture taken, he said "yeah"!!!
The best part that the newspaper was the McAllen Monitor!!!
ReplyDeleteYour Church "visitor" appeared to be very interesting :o)
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Sounds like maybe you had an interesting service with the "visitor". However, the best was the picture of my buddy 'Taylor'. Love the hat but love him more. Have a great one!
ReplyDeleteMiss and love you guys!
Sounds like you had a very interesting sunday! :0) At least the "visitor" kept you entertained! :0)
ReplyDeleteInteresting visitor! Never know what you'll see in Mexico.
ReplyDeleteRe: the piano playing. I know you did a wonderful job. One thing about making mistakes when singing or playing here is that it just doesn't seem to matter much. The people are so laid-back and understanding. One of these days we'll have to tell you about breaking down into a laughing fit trying to sing a song in one of our village churches acompanied by a dear brother playing the guitar with neither the right chords nor the right tempo. It was a train wreck, for sure! Hope to see you soon!
You get nervous to play the piano??? I would have never thunk it! ;)
ReplyDeleteThere used to be a guy who came to church in Jalapa, Guatemala, carrying a bent length of copper tubing. He'd put it on the floor, decide it wasn't in the right place, move it with his foot, then move it again, pick it up and put it somewhere else, push it around some more . . . and the copper made a noise on the tile floor every time he touched it. And, of course, he always sat near the front.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you still have your sense of humor! But isn't messing up on the piano a fact of life? Keep up the good work. God Bless!
