Travel Update II

Well, we've made it safely to Salamanca, Mexico. We had no problems at the border and after waiting through the migration process, we have our visas and vehicle permit for 180 days.
PRAISE THE LORD!!
Driving through the mountains...

This picture holds no real significance, but we were traveling around 70 mph, and I snapped the picture out the window. I was just impressed with the clarity, given the circumstances.

While we were still in Texas, the kids were able to play at the playground on the RGBI campus. Thus, the following pictures!

Travel Update I

Yesterday was a long travel day for the kids and I...but, we have arrived in Texas safe and sound! Michael and Philip got in around 4 a.m...now they're trying to catch up on some sleep before we head into Mexico.

We're Finally Moving!

We can hardly believe it...the "BIG WEEK" has finally arrived! Monday was spent packing our truck and trailer, trying to cram in everything we could! Today around 10:30, Michael and Philip Burch left for the long drive to Texas. They are stopping in Knoxville, TN tonight for a quick sleep and heading out early in the morning. Tomorrow, Collette Burch, the kids and I are flying to Texas. If everything goes as planned, we should meet up with the guys late Wednesday night. (Well, they'll probably come in while we're sleeping!) We will spend Thursday and Friday in Texas, re-packing some stuff and probably buying a few other essentials and then Saturday morning, we will head for the border and pray for an uneventful crossing! We would appreciate your prayers as we make this journey.

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. Pictures will be coming at a later date.

This -n- That

I wanted to post some pictures of friends we have been able to visit while on our trip. Unfortunately, I didn't get very many pictures, so I will link you to a few you did take pictures!

Let's see...

We stayed in Pell City, AL for over a week and were able to visit with Andy & Julie Schultz. Michael and Andy were in the same grade of school at Penn View from kindergarten through 4 yrs. of college. Andy was also my neighbor. We had a great time with them. Check out their blog here for pictures.

Below is a picture of Naaman & Katie Thrasher. We went out to eat and spent the night at their place. We had them in choir at Penn View and Katie and I were really good friends. It was so good to see them again!!

And then, we met up with Gene and Angie Davis in Indy. What a blast! We ate at Cracker Barrel and then left the men to watch the kids while we went shopping! Of course, I forgot my camera, so click here to see Angie's blog for pictures! Thanks for the great time!!!

While in Indy, we also met up with Mike Peck and part of his family. (Unfortunately, Tracy was sick and stayed at home with Benjamin.) We went to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis and had an enjoyable time letting the kids explore and have some fun!! I did take my camera, so here are a few pictures.

Kyle enjoyed sliding in the Curious George place.

Taylor riding the carousel.

Daddy & Kyle riding a slide.

The beautiful "Fireworks of Glass" exhibit.

Us.

Well, our trip is winding down. We are VERY excited! We have a service Wed. night in Ohio, then we head home on Thursday!!! YEAH!! We have been gone since Jan. and are very anxious to see our family and just stay in one place for awhile. (Actually, we will only have two weeks or so before we leave for Mexico!) Things will be getting busy in a few days as we finish our packing and do last minute odds & ends to prepare for our move. We're sad to be leaving family, but happy to do the will of the Lord. Keep us in your prayers!!

Just a cute picture of Taylor...

More Pictures From Our Travels

We haven't been able to get great wireless access in some of the places we've been staying, so...my apologies for not updating sooner!

We've also been passing the "sick bug" around in our family. I've been trying to get over a sore throat and enlarged tonsils for about a week now. Seems to be getting better (except for a pesky cough)! Taylor had the runny nose and cough thing...he's pretty congested, so the doctor put him on antibiotics. Kyle ended up with an ear infection in BOTH ears...so, he's on antibiotics! And now, Michael has a fever and generally just feeling lousy!

ANYWAY...

Here are two recent pictures of the kids.

Taylor has started crawling and pulling himself up...I have a feeling, life will soon become more interesting!!!

Kyle's newest thing is "WHY?????" When we tell him to do something... "WHY?" Most of the time I try to give him answers or explanations, but sometimes, it's like, "Because I said so...!"

A couple of weeks ago when we were driving through Orlando, FL, we saw the message below being written in the sky. It was very interesting to watch. Michael & I were wondering if it's truly effective. Would somebody be touched enough, to seek out a church? What do you think?

Before we left the sunny skies of FL, we were able to stay a day with Michael's Great-Uncle Butch. He and his wife live right on the bay connected to Fort Walton Beach. The water was beautiful and very relaxing!

Uncle Butch and his wife, Wani.
Their house is below. We stayed in the bungalow attached to the main house.

I'm Back!!

Sorry for the unannounced blogging vacation...but I don't think I'm the only one!!

Well, I mentioned last time that I would have pics from PA, and since it's been so long, from recent events, too.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM PA

I was able to spend some time with my best friend, Kara, who just had a baby! The quilt she is holding is one I made for her and is supposed to match her car seat/stroller.

Clayton Andrew Plank - he's so cute!

Taylor & Clayton - "Car Seat Buddies"

And...after leaving sunny Florida to come home, I was able to "enjoy" wintry weather!

This is a panoramic view from my parents front porch.

I forgot to take pictures of my family - but I really enjoyed being with them on my brief visit home!

RECENT EVENTS

The night I flew back to Florida was Michael's birthday. Since his family was all at Sea Breeze Camp Meeting, they had a small celebration.

Most of our time spent in Florida has been at camp meetings. Sea Breeze was no exception. We were commissioned by H.I.M. during the last service.

I sang with my "in-law" family for a special song.
"As For Me And My House...We Will Serve The Lord"

Thank You Melodie for taking the pictures!

We were also privileged to spend time with other members of the Hispanic department from H.I.M....the Reiff's, the Dykes' and the Burch's. Of course I didn't have my camera along for those occassions, so...

I have some more family pictures to post, but since it's getting late and the page lengthy, I'll save them for another day! Adios!

Fun in the Sun!

Last Saturday we were in Kissimmee, FL and were able to enjoy the sunshine! We thought we would try playing mini-golf...with Kyle! This isn't such a bad thing, but he is a very rambunctious 2 year old who likes to explore everything on his own! We are able to report - no major catastrophes! Otherwise, I got 2 hole-in-ones, but...Michael beat me by one :-(

I am currently in PA, and will have more to update...at a later date!!!
