Finally...a post!!!

I know...it's been forever since I've posted. Our lives have definitely been busy. I'll try to catch you up a little.

Right in the midst of our yard sales and then moving, our mailbox had a tragic accident! I was working in the house when I heard a terrible noise outside, and worried that something had happened to Michael coming in from work, I went out to investigate. It was two teenage boys getting out of their car to go look at my mailbox which was laying on its side. I did ask them what happened..."We came around the corner too fast and slid into your mailbox." Oh brother!

I did mention in my last post about the yard sale we were getting ready to have. It was only semi-profitable (seeing as how we lived in the busy metropolis of Penns Creek)!! We decided to have another one the following Saturday, only this time, at our friends house in New Berlin. The town was hosting Heritage Days, so we figured we would have more people...you know, get rid of more stuff!! It was an "ok" yard sale...blazing hot with humidity and not much of our larger furniture items selling. So now, the remainder of our yard sale stuff is sitting in my Mom and Dad's garage waiting for yet another yard sale at their place - hopefully this Saturday!

And then, we managed to move. We officially no longer live in the mobile home outside Penns Creek, but with my grandfather in New Columbia. What an experience, in all areas! I still have stuff sitting in boxes waiting to be sorted because I ran out of time before we had to be out of our house. Since my grandfather's place is well lived in by him, we've about maxed out any available space with our "stuff"! And it's just fun to chase a 2-year old around the house all day...Kyle is finding great pleasure in getting into just about everything!!

Moving my piano onto my dad's trailer.

There it goes...back to my Mom & Dad's house. Thanks to Michael, my dad, Dan Durkee, Derek McIntire and Matt Ellison who helped in some way to move the piano.

And then, saying goodbye to the place we called home the last 5 years! Maybe in a later post, I'll show a picture of my grandfather's house where we are currently staying. Right now, he's getting his roof re-done.
I guess this sums up most of what we've been doing recently. Now that we're semi-settled, I should be able to post more!!!!!!!

Vacation Update - part II

Here are some more pictures from our trip to Washington.

Kyle and Taylor are ready for camp meeting.

Daddy and Kyle walking at the Pacific Ocean.

For all the animal lovers, we went to "NorthwesTrek" a place where we rode a tram and got to see lots of animals that are native to Washington. It was neat to see some of these animals close enough to reach out and touch - as long as you didn't mind losing your hand!!

We also went to the Mt. Rainier National Park, but unfortunately, it was very cloudy that day, and we didn't get clear pictures...but the landscape we could see was very beautiful!

And just for everyone's enjoyment, the picture below is me up on the roof of the mobile home/trailer we stayed in...it got TP'd the second time and I was trying to clean it up...

And if you think of it, say a prayer for me over the next 2 1/2 weeks. I need to sort and then pack up all of our stuff..."Do I take it to Mexico, store it, sell it, or take it with me to use now and then..." As you can see, it's a daunting task! We'll actually be moving into my grandfather's place until we leave for Florida and then on to Mexico, come January. So anyway....if you're close enough, you could always stop by my yard sale this Saturday the 18th or on Saturday the 25th.

That was Then, This is Now!

Happy Anniversary!!!
...to us...

Wow! It's hard to believe we've been married 6 years! Where has the time gone? We've been through good times and of course bad times, but we're still in love with each other. The "I do's" are forever!!

We went out to eat at Olive Garden for dinner - it was exceptionally delicious!

As is blogger ritual, I am posting "then & now" pictures.

Dear Bloggers...

It seems like forever since I've posted. Of course, that would be due to that fact that we are busy right now! Very profound, I know!

We are singing for the Pierce County Holiness Association Camp Meeting in Tacoma, Washington. They are wonderful people, and the Lord has really been helping in our services. The special speaker is Bro. Robert Wilson.

Here is a picture of the tabernacle.
This is the mobile home/trailer where we are staying. As you can see, one night, the young people went out of their way to give us a good welcome!

This picture was taken from the waters of Puget Sound. Mt. Rainier is approximately 65 miles away, yet it seems so close. It's absolutely stunning!

I think I could take hundreds of pictures of this mountain! Hopefully, we'll have more to come! After the camp is over, we are planning on taking a day and visiting the Mt. Rainier National Park - doing a little up close and personal visit!

Kyle is enjoying the ducks at a little park we stopped at.

Kyle also had a birthday on July 30th. He turned 2 yrs. old - where has the time flown? (Please don't tell him, but I don't think the "terrible two" part has kicked in yet. He's generally good, just curious and a little too independent at times)!! The camp provided some delicious cake and ice cream. We'll actually have an official family celebration later in the month of August.

This is the Star Lake Church of God Holiness where Michael preached last Sunday morning. It was beautiful inside and out!

We will be doing some other sight-seeing after camp, so I'll have more pics to show...just no promises on when I'll get around to it!

Cavalcade of Champtions!

This past week was pretty low-key for us, but on Saturday, we were able to do something exciting!

Cavalcade of Champions
Drum & Bugle Corps Competition
Bucknell University
Lewisburg, PA

Rooke Chapel on Bucknell campus. A beautiful piece of architecture.

Special feature of the event....the U.S. Marines Drum & Bugle Corps. They were absolutely stunning! Their precision and sound is incredible!

The color guard of the "The Hawthorne Caballeros".

One of the assistant drum majors.

Well, not much else to report. We leave on Tuesday for the state of Washington. It is only half of a vacation because we will also be singing for a camp meeting. We will be gone two weeks...so depending on the internet situation out there, you probably won't hear from me for a while. We will hopefully get to the Seattle Zoo and also sight-see around Mt. Rainier National Park. In all my travels, I've come to the conclusion that Washington is my favorite state...the pictorial views are incredible. It's definitely some of "God's Country"!

Our Week...

This past Wednesday night, we had a deputation service at Glen Iron Pilgrim Holiness Church. It was a wonderful privilege to have the Doug Hoffman family stop in and show their support! We admire them greatly and appreciate all their advice and encouragement as we are just starting our journey in missions!

Other than our service, the only other "major" thing that happened this week is the work we're doing on our CD project. We did some more recording (hopefully we'll finish that this coming week) and we also dropped our graphics info off with Jon Plank. Below are a few pictures we took with our own camera that will probalby be included with our project in some form or fashion!

Tomorrow, we head for the York and Hanover GMC churches for a missions service. Hopefully, I'll have more pics coming...

Happy 4th of July!!

Due to the fact that we had a deputation service Wednesday night, we celebrated the 4th by ourselves. We were even going to picnic outside...but after I had toted half of the stuff out to the picnic table, we decided to move it back indoors, for fear of rain! Oh well, the food was good (if I say so myself!) and it was relaxing to have most of the day off!

Here are some pictures of the kids!
